This hotel was renovated and refurbished in 2005. The former open-air lobby is now glassed-in and air-conditioned. Decor includes Asian-inspired furniture and interiors. Custom-designed furnishings are imported from Bali, and, purchased in Saipan, Phoenix Palm trees dot the lobby. The glass wall enclosing the former Vino Bar (lobby area) has been taken out, and renamed as the Vino Lobby Lounge. Sunset orange and dark woods earmark the reception, and black walls are decorated with honey-colored marble; modern lighting effects. Also from Bali, the guest relations counter features wooden carvings of traditional latte stone head caps with floral elements. This design pervades the lamp boxes, lobby walls, and guestroom headboards.
The gardens have been re-landscaped to complement the new lobby and to provide more tropical views. At night, the brightly lit garden can be seen from the candle-lit lobby area.
A wheelchair lift has been installed for easier access to the Rey Lounge banquet facility. In addition, a bigger, more efficient generator now offers 890 kw to the property, and hot water is available 24 hours a day via a gas-operated and environmentally-friendly system.
